TrailByTyre / Privacy Policy

Privacy, with the distinctions visible.

Tool entries, Google Analytics, contact messages, cookies and your choices. No newsletter; advertising is a possible future service.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit trailbytyre.online, use TrailByTyre tools, submit a contact form or email the site. Sara is the named author and site contact. For a privacy question or a request about information you have sent to the site, write to support@trailbytyre.online. The site launched on ; that launch date is not a statement that this policy was published on the same day.

TrailByTyre uses Google Analytics and has contact forms. There is no newsletter subscription service. Advertising may be introduced in the future; this policy does not state that ads, Google AdSense or personalized advertising are currently enabled. This notice distinguishes the browser-based tools from hosting, analytics and message-delivery services.

2. Information you enter in the tools

The tools may ask for departure clocks, entered sunset times, personal time allowances, user-chosen water quantities, kit weights, pass prices, section paces and categorized reminders. The supplied tool code uses those values to calculate or build the result in the open browser page. It does not automatically send those entered values to a dedicated TrailByTyre calculation server, create a tool account, or automatically save a plan in cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage.

That description applies to the supplied calculation scripts, not to every service on the website. A page visit can still generate analytics and technical records, and a contact-form submission deliberately sends information for delivery. Browser features, extensions or a device’s own backup and print services operate independently. Do not assume that using a local calculator makes the whole website anonymous.

Keep precise future locations, emergency contacts, private health details and children’s identities out of free-text kit and reminder fields. A downloaded day sheet can disclose anything you choose to enter.

3. Results, downloads and printing

When you request an export or print a result, it can contain personal day reminders, kit contents, intended clocks or other entered planning details. The browser creates the output, and any saved or printed copy is then under your control. Check it before emailing, uploading or sharing it, especially if it includes information about other people.

An open tool page is not a backup service. Refreshing, closing the page or navigating away may clear its working state. The site cannot recover information that existed only in that page and was never sent to us. Delete unneeded downloads from shared devices and review the settings of any cloud or printing service you choose to use.

4. Contact forms and email

When you submit a contact form or write to support@trailbytyre.online, the site processes the fields you provide, such as your name, email address, subject and message. Correspondence may also include delivery details, timestamps and information needed to understand a technical problem. Please provide only what is necessary and do not send passwords, identity documents, payment-card data or detailed private itineraries.

Messages are used to respond to questions, investigate errors, handle privacy requests, maintain relevant correspondence and protect the site against misuse. The form, website server and email-delivery services process a submission to deliver it. If spam protection is enabled, that service may also assess technical request information. This policy does not identify an unverified anti-spam or email provider as active.

Sending a support message does not subscribe you to a newsletter. There is no newsletter service on this website. A reply concerning your request is correspondence about that request, not a promise of ongoing promotional messages.

The bundled contact form uses WordPress wp_mail for delivery. It checks a WordPress nonce, a hidden spam-trap field, field lengths and a required message-handling acknowledgement. It does not add a newsletter subscription or intentionally save a separate copy of the message in this plugin’s own database tables. Your host, mail service or other installed plugins may still keep relevant copies or logs.

For basic abuse limiting, the form keeps a salted hash derived from the connection’s IP address with an attempt counter in a WordPress transient. The counter expires after fifteen minutes of inactivity; each attempt renews that short window. The raw address is not stored in that transient key, but hashing is not described as complete anonymization. Other hosting or security logs may still contain the address. No third-party CAPTCHA is bundled.

5. Google Analytics

TrailByTyre uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors reach and use the website and to identify pages or experiences that may need improvement. Depending on the analytics configuration and the choices available in your region, Analytics may process identifiers, page views, approximate location, device and browser information, referral information, interactions and the times of visits. Google processes information to provide the Analytics service.

The specific signals, storage behavior and retention depend on the installed configuration and any applicable consent settings. This policy does not claim that analytics is completely anonymous, that cookies are never used, or that all optional Google features are enabled. We do not need private message contents, passport details or the text of a personal travel journal to understand website usage; avoid putting personal information into page URLs or issue-report examples.

You can read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. It is not a control for all website processing or all advertising.

6. Cookies and your choices

Cookies and similar technologies can support analytics, website functionality and security. The calculation scripts described above do not automatically use browser storage to save your plan, but that does not mean Analytics, WordPress or other enabled website services never use cookies or identifiers.

You can review, block or delete cookies through your browser and use privacy tools available on your device. Blocking storage or scripts may change the way some features behave. Where the website presents a consent control, use it to manage the categories it actually covers. If your region requires consent for non-essential analytics or future advertising, those services need to be controlled accordingly; simply reading this policy or continuing to browse is not presented here as valid consent.

If a preference control is unavailable or you are unsure what applies to a service, contact support@trailbytyre.online. A Privacy Policy or Cookie Notice explains practices; it does not itself install a banner, block scripts or implement consent settings.

7. Possible future advertising

Advertising may be introduced to support the website. No particular advertising provider, AdSense enrollment or personalized-ad feature is confirmed as active by this policy. The Analytics service described above is active independently of whether ads appear.

If advertising is introduced, the site will need to identify the actual provider and explain the relevant processing and controls. Depending on the service, ads may involve cookies or other identifiers, ad measurement, contextual selection or personalization. The policy and any required consent setup should be updated before those features are activated. Until then, a hypothetical ad provider should not be treated as a current recipient of your information.

8. Hosting, security and service providers

Loading a website involves communication with its host. Hosting, website administration and security systems may handle IP addresses, browser or device details, requested URLs, timestamps, error records and other request information needed to deliver pages, diagnose problems and protect against abuse. The exact records depend on the services and their settings.

Information may be processed by providers supporting hosting, analytics, message delivery, website maintenance and any enabled security functions. Relevant information may also be disclosed when legally required, to respond to a valid request, or to protect rights and investigate misuse. This notice does not present the supplied calculator code as an audit of every plugin or server setting. Contact the site if you need clarification about a particular provider.

9. Purposes and applicable legal grounds

Information is handled to provide the website and requested outputs, reply to correspondence, understand website usage, fix problems and protect the service. We do not ask you to send personal records in order to obtain an ordinary calculator result.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the basis must fit the processing: for example, consent for non-essential technologies where required, legitimate interests in appropriate website operation and security where permitted, handling a request you initiate, or compliance with a legal obligation. A general reference to legitimate interests does not override a consent requirement. You may ask us which basis applies to a specific activity.

10. Retention and deletion

The supplied tools do not provide server-side storage or automatic backups of entered plans. Contact correspondence may be kept as long as needed to respond, investigate a problem, maintain necessary records or meet legal obligations. Technical logs and analytics records are subject to the relevant provider settings and operational needs.

No single fixed retention period is asserted for all information. The appropriate period depends on its purpose, sensitivity and any legal requirement. Write to support@trailbytyre.online to ask about information you sent, the applicable retention settings or deletion. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons; a request cannot remove copies you downloaded or shared with someone else.

11. Security and international processing

No website, email service or method of transmission can guarantee complete security. Keep sensitive information out of ordinary contact forms and tool fields. If you believe a message or a site feature has exposed personal information, notify the site contact with enough detail to locate the issue, without resending sensitive material unnecessarily.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. The locations and safeguards depend on the provider and the service configuration. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, those requirements apply to the relevant processing. This policy does not invent a hosting country or claim a particular transfer arrangement without verification.

13. Your rights and privacy requests

Depending on the law that applies, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to particular processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may be able to withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also have a right to complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights are not identical in every jurisdiction and may have exceptions.

Send your request to support@trailbytyre.online, identify the website and describe the information or interaction concerned. Use the address you originally contacted us from where possible. We may need proportionate verification before releasing or changing a record, but please do not send identity documents unsolicited. Requests are handled within the timeframes required by applicable law; this page does not promise an unverified universal deadline.

14. Changes to this policy

This notice should be reviewed when the website’s services or practices change, including the introduction of advertising, a new form provider or a different analytics setup. The current published version is available on this page. Where required, material changes or new processing will need an appropriate notice or consent rather than being treated as covered by an old permission.

For questions about this notice, contact Sara at support@trailbytyre.online or use the Contact page.
